Keep your savings. Give their fruit.
An endowment for your masjid or community organization, funded by its own members. Supporting both classic permanent waqf and withdrawable temporary waqf: your money is invested the halal way, earnings support the organization, and you choose whether your principal stays withdrawable or permanent.
Earnings support the masjid. Principal remains 100% yours and can be reclaimed after a short notice period (30–60 days).
Our institutions run on fundraisers. It doesn't have to be that way.
For organizations
Every year starts at zero. Boards spend months fundraising just to keep the lights on, and a single bad Ramadan appeal can mean cutting programs.
For members
Many of us want to give more, but our savings are our safety net. Giving them away for good isn't realistic.
“What if your savings could support your community, and still be yours?”
The tree stays yours. The fruit goes to your community.
Your money
You allocate capital to your organization's pool, choosing either a permanent waqf or a withdrawable temporary waqf.
Invested in halal ventures
Screened profit-sharing (mudarabah) investments, avoiding interest and speculative debt.
Earnings go to your organization
Recurring profits flow directly to fund daily operations, youth work, and community programs.
“That's the oldest idea in Islamic giving, the waqf, rebuilt for how we live now. We support both: make your endowment permanently perpetual, or choose a temporary waqf where you can reclaim your principal after a short notice period if life changes.”
How it works
Five deliberate steps from community savings to enduring institutions.
An organization launches its endowment
Schools and charities set up their pool in minutes; for masjids, it's powered directly through masjids.io with a single switch.
Members allocate
A lump sum, a monthly amount, or a percentage of your Baitulmaal savings.
It's invested the halal way
Through profit-sharing (mudarabah), in screened, ethical ventures. Never interest.
Earnings fund the organization
Profits flow to the organization as steady, recurring income.
Your choice: permanent or withdrawable
Both models will be supported: commit it as an eternal classical waqf, or choose a temporary waqf and withdraw your principal after a short notice period (typically 30–60 days).

Built on Baitulmaal.
Baitulmaal is the Islamic money app we're building: everyday and savings accounts, tap-to-pay and zakat in one place. Waqf plugs straight into it.
Supporting both permanent and temporary endowments.
Whether you want to leave an eternal legacy today or prefer the flexibility of temporary waqf, our platform will support both.
Permanent waqf
Turn your allocation into a permanent endowment. The classic perpetual waqf, benefiting your community for generations to come.
Temporary waqf
Support your community while keeping your safety net intact. Earnings fund your institution, and you can withdraw principal after a short notice period (typically 30–60 days).
In your will
Pledge part of your estate (up to one third, in line with Islamic inheritance) to create permanent or temporary endowments for causes you cherish.
Rooted in tradition.
Built with classical Islamic jurisprudence at its center.
Both permanent & temporary waqf
Permanent endowments represent the classical consensus across all four madhabs. In addition, temporary waqf (waqf mu'aqqat), where principal can be reclaimed, is recognized in the Maliki school. Our Shariah advisory board will review and confirm both models.

No interest earned or paid. Anywhere.
Real profit-sharing
Earnings come from real, screened ventures, and risk is shared honestly. That's why returns aren't guaranteed.

Why we're building Baitulmaal Waqf
A note from the founding teamEvery year, during the last ten nights of Ramadan, our masjids and community centers pause their prayers and spiritual focus to make frantic appeals for operational funds. Boards spend anxious months wondering if donor fatigue will force them to cut youth programs, delay maintenance, or lay off teachers.
At the same time, millions of community members want deeply to help their institutions, but they cannot afford to part forever with their hard-earned emergency savings. If a family has $10,000 saved for unexpected medical expenses or job transitions, donating it all away isn't responsible.
Baitulmaal Waqf is designed to support both models: the classic permanent waqf (waqf mu'abbad) for those ready to commit an enduring perpetual endowment, alongside the temporary waqf (waqf mu'aqqat) recognized in the Maliki school for members who need the option to reclaim principal. By pooling allocations into ethical, mudarabah profit-sharing vehicles, the generated yield flows month after month into the community's veins. We're building this because our institutions deserve perpetual dignity, and our families deserve flexible options.
